What is a Bladder Pacemaker?
Similar to a cardiac pacemaker, SNM involves placing a tiny generator under the skin of the buttock and an electrode lead near the sacral nerve (S3) at the lower back.
Mechanism of Action
It delivers mild electrical stimulation to the sacral nerves, modulating neural communication between the bladder and the brain. This calms involuntary bladder contractions and disrupts pain pathways.
