Understanding Vaginismus
Vaginismus involves involuntary, reflexive spasms of the pelvic floor muscles surrounding the vagina, especially the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle. This reflex blocks vaginal penetration completely or renders it extremely painful.
Clinical Grades
Grade 1 (Mild): Mild spasm that can be overcome with reassurance.Grade 2: Pronounced spasm restricting penetration, but manageable with therapy.Grade 3: Severe spasm where the patient arches the back and closes thighs, blocking intercourse.Grade 4 (Severe): Complete refusal of examination or touch, panic reaction.Randevu mu almak istiyorsunuz?
